Key issues facing Latino communities to be discussed
Mayor Raul G. Salinas and City Manager, Carlos Villarreal, will travel to our Nation’s Capitol to attend an Arrival Ceremony honoring His Excellency Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, President of Mexico and Mrs. Margarita Zavala at The White House on Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010.
After the ceremony, the City Officials will attend a briefing where key issues facing Latino communities will be discussed. Immigration reform, the Supreme Court Nomination, Presidential appointments, and U.S.-Mexico relations, among others, will be some of the topics of discussion at the official briefing.
“This is a valuable opportunity to present important issues we face here on the border with Federal officials as well as with our Mexican counterparts”, the Mayor said. City Manager, Carlos R.Villarreal added that the meetings are expected to be very productive as the key players from both the U.S. and Mexico communities will be present.
