Monday, August 24, 2009 from approximately 9 a.m.-6 p.m., weather permitting. Closures will take place on IH 35 NB mainlanes, just north of Mann Road to north of Del Mar Blvd. and IH 35 SB mainlanes, just south of Shiloh to north of Del Mar Blvd. in the vicinity of the FM 1472-IH 35 project in Laredo/Webb County. To remove existing concrete barrier that is currently dividing IH 35 NB & SB traffic. Once the barrier is removed, contractor crews will commence the work needed to construct one of the NBDC (northbound direct connector) bents at this location.
Be prepared to merge left on IH 35 mainlanes.
In preparation to begin work on the Northbound Direct Connector (DC) accessing FM 1472 northbound, these road closures will help remove existing barriers at the center of IH 35 and the construction (bent 3). IH 35 SB mainlanes will be the first to be closed. Once a temporary barrier is set for the SB mainlanes, the striping crews will start stripe re-configuration at SB lanes while contractor crews move to the NB side to close the left lane.
The traveling public should slow down, drive with extreme caution, and observe all safety signs, traffic control devices and flaggers in the work zone area.
