Pocahontas Court Visit Students at Perez Elementary School

(Laredo, Tx)-Members of the 2013 Princess Pocahontas Court recently visited Dr. S. Perez Elementary to honor “top readers” at the Accelerated Reader Awards Ceremony. The event was held in the school’s library. The students had a great time asking the Court questions about Indian tribes and history. Students were also able to enjoy their beautifully beaded costumes. The Accelerated Reader Program is a software assessment tool that assesses a student’s reading level and suggests titles of books at that level. The Program then assesses whether a student has completed reading the book by asking a series of quiz questions where students earn points. Perez Elementary Principal Maria de Lourdes Viloria is the proud principal of the school and her son, Amable Viloria, a member of the Court.
