TAMIU Sets Annual ‘Celebration of Life’ Observance Thursday, April 12

 Texas A&M International University will remember fallen alumni, students, faculty and staff at the second  “Celebration of Life” memorial observation Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts’ Recital Hall.

            This event provides members of the TAMIU community and community at large an opportunity to remember alumni, students, faculty and staff who have passedaway in the past year, celebrate their lives and move forward together.

            The University’s sponsoring Office of Alumni Relations is encouraging all those who have lost a TAMIU student, staff, faculty or alumni member to be part of the event. Photos of individuals to be honored can be submitted by email to alumni@tamiu.edu by Friday, April 6.

            The service will include a roll call of those being honored, accompanied by special readings by TAMIU alumni, students and brief musical performances.

            After the service, a procession led by the Border Patrol Honor Guard Bagpiper will follow to the Lamar Bruni Vergara Memorial Garden where a wreath will be placed. A reception will be held for family and friends on the Student Center.

            University representatives will be present to help answer questions on how guests can commemorate their loved ones further at TAMIU.
