Webb County, TX– Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) has selected Judge Danny Valdez as its 2011 Outstanding Service from a Community Leader award winner.
Judge Valdez is very involved with many community activities and goes the extra mile to help the youth of our community. Judge Valdez chairs his Annual Fishing Derby for which he has received state wide recognition for the past 17 years for physically challenged students. He also started the Special Student of the Month Program that recognizes physically challenged students from area high schools on a monthly basis.
The Outstanding Service from a Community Leader award is presented to the individual whose efforts on behalf of SOTX exceed expectations. On October 21, Special Olympics Texas will present the award to Valdez for his achievements and recognize him at Opening Ceremonies for the 2011 Fall Classic in Bryan/College Station.
