Private Construction Work To Cause Road Closure

 Orozco Plumbing, a private utilities contractor working on improvements for an existing apartment complex, will be working on Elm Street, between McDonnell Avenue and Monterrey Avenue, closing the street to all through traffic on Thursday, March 10, 2011, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
 Traffic control equipment indicating street closure and detour information will be set up at site.
 The work will consist of connecting a water line for the project; no interruption of water service is expected.

Webb County Sheriff’s Office Along With United States Marshal’s Task Force Make Arrest

 Laredo, Texas (Webb County) –  On Friday, March 4, 2011, The Webb County Sheriff’s Office along with the United States Marshal’s Task Force arrested Jose Luis Sanchez at the 200 block of Corral Drive in Laredo, Texas.  Sanchez was served with outstanding warrants from a case initiated by the Webb County Sheriff’s Office in February 2011.  He was transported to the Webb County Jail facing five charges.  Aggravated Assault a Felony 2, Aggravated Kidnapping a Felony 1, Interfering with Emergency call a Class A, Terroristic Threat …

Laredo Meets With White House Officials

 Day two of Laredo’s Washington, D.C. advocacy trip found the group meeting with the White House and the Departments of State, Homeland Security, Energy, Commerce, Agriculture, Health and Human Services, as well as, organizations such as the American Bus Association, Sister Cities, and the General Services Administration.
