Acupuncture workshop to help teach ancient Chinese therapy
Jose Adrian Martinez , Master of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine is inviting the Laredo community to come discover the fundamental elements of acupuncture, including: what conditions acupuncture treats; how stress affects health and what can be done to eliminate it; and the difference between treating symptoms and treating the real causes of disease. He will discuss the safety of acupressure, as well as how to find and use the pressure points, what conditions acupressure treat, and how to combine the points to eliminate headaches, boost the immune system, reduce stress and health care costs.
Those attending the class should bring a trusted friend or loved one to practice on during the workshop. Everyone is encouraged to wear loose fitting, casual clothing.
Martinez, a native of Laredo, has a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, from Austin, the oldest school of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Texas. His training of over 3,500 hours at TCTCM includes extensive training in Chinese Acupuncture, Auricular therapy, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion therapy, Tui na, Tai chi, Chi gong, and Eastern nutrition, as well as a two year internship at the school’s clinic.
He is licensed in the State of Texas (AC01225), is part of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, as well as being a certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine and Chinese Herbalist.
In addition he has western-related schooling in the biosciences, pharmacology, western pathology, physical examination and ortho-neurological assessment techniques, psychology, and western nutrition. Martinez is an instructor of Chi Gong and Tai Chi at the N.E. Hillside Recreation Center in Laredo.
