Municipal Candidates to Draw for Position on Ballot

(Laredo, TX)  City of Laredo City Secretary’s Office will hold a ballot drawing event at City Hall Council Chambers on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. for all candidates in municipal elections. The candidates will draw for order of appearance on the ballot.

 “This is an important part of the democratic process for our municipal candidates,” said Gustavo Guevara, City Secretary.  “It is important that the order of names on the ballot is selected as impartially as possible, and not using any other form of sequencing system, such as listing incumbents first; alphabetical order; or by age.”

The number selected by each candidate, or their designated representative, is the order their names will appear on the ballot for the election, to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010.

 Candidates for municipal offices as of this morning are listed below.  The filing deadline for municipal candidates is today, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

    salinas has failed as mayor and gene is a radical nut who only cares about his friends in business and jose valdez needs a set of balls its sad when sitting public servants cannot get the seal of approval from the voters
