Laredo Updates on Shelter, River Situation

9 July 2010 No Comment

Courtesy Xochitl Mora,

(Laredo, TX  7:15 p.m.)  The City of Laredo Emergency Operation Center wants to reiterate to any displaced citizens or individuals in the community that the Laredo Civic Center, located at 2400 San Bernardo, is still open and operational as a shelter for anyone needing shelter.  The shelter will be open for 24 hours, so individuals seeking shelter are encouraged to stop by the Civic Center.

All other residents who had been previously been evacuated may return to their homes if there is no more water inside their homes.

The river is slowly receding and is not expected to crest again.
