In a collaborate effort by the Laredo Police Department and the Webb County Sherriff’s Department, Jose Lopez Jr., age 68, was served with an outstanding warrant for Not Complying with Sex Offender Requirements. Lopez was featured last week in the media in an attempt to secure his arrest for the safety of the community. Mr. Lopez had fled into Mexico but through the coordination of the two agencies contact was made with him and Lopez surrendered himself over to U.S. law enforcement authorities late Thursday afternoon. Mr. Lopez is now at the Webb County Jail and held with no bond.
