A special memorial to remember those who have lost their lives in work zone accidents will make an appearance in Texas next week at a news conference in Laredo, the second of five scheduled events statewide.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), along with its transportation partners, the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) and construction contractor CH2M Hill, is sponsoring the 20-foot national memorial wall that holds the names of motorists and construction workers who have lost their lives in work zone accidents in recent years.

Through this summer, regional leaders are meeting monthly as part of a new citizen-driven planning effort to develop a blueprint of improvements for the Interstate 35 corridor. The San Antonio/Laredo area, which is represented by the I-35 Corridor Segment Committee Four, will meet again on Thursday March 11 to continue efforts identifying regional needs and potential solutions for the corridor.
Once the segment committee completes its regional blueprint, it will collaborate with the I-35 Corridor Advisory Committee, as well as other I-35 Corridor Segment Committees, to consolidate each regional …
