Warrant Issued for Hit and Run Driver of LPD Officer

 On Wednesday 04, 2009 the Laredo Police Department received a distress call of an officer involved in a vehicular accident on Loop 20 and Campos Drive.  Veteran Traffic Officer Jose L. Reyes was traveling north on Loop 20 approaching the intersection of Loop 20 and Campos when a red colored Mazda pick-up truck ran a stop sign coming onto Loop 20 thus cutting off Officer Reyes on the motorcycle.  Officer Reyes tried to avoid hitting the truck but wound up colliding into the back end of the pick-up …

Man Arrested for $20,000 in Municipal Court Fines

Agustin Rizo, III, 22, was arrested on 77 Municipal Court warrants.  Rizo has accumulated fines netting $20,487.  This arrest is one of many similar arrests where people just keep ignoring court letters and never answer court summons.  If anyone owes outstanding balances to Municipal Court Fines the Laredo Police strongly advises people to make arrangements with the court judge to avoid being arrested and hauled off to jail.

 Laredo, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents conducting outbound operations at the Laredo Port of Entry this week encountered a vehicle spare tire that was filled with more than just air; it contained $349,035 in undeclared currency. 
The currency seizure occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Lincoln-Juarez Bridge . CBP officers and Border Patrol agents conducting outbound (southbound) inspections referred a 1999 Ford Expedition driven by Ana Daisy Mondragon, a 20-year-old U.S. citizen from Houston for a secondary examination.
