Laredo, TX – The City of Laredo Health Department wants to remind the public that rabies continues to be a local threat and that everyone needs to vaccinate their pets now either at their veterinarian’s office or at the health department.
Fall and end of the year schedule:
City of Laredo Health Department Rabies Clinic for the Fall
October 20, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
2600 Cedar, Laredo, TX
November 3, 2010 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
2200 Zacatecas
None for December
The City of Laredo is considered an endemic area for rabies and therefore owners must be conscious of how important it is for them to vaccinate and protect not only their pets but also our community. In 2010 alone we had over four hundred (400) bites and we could not verify vaccination status on the majority. In addition we want to let the public know that pet registration is required by microchip and the public has until August 1, 2011 to be compliant.
The cost for pet rabies vaccination is $12.00.
