City of Laredo Assistant Utilities Director Resigns

Laredo, Texas – The City of Laredo announces that Arturo Garcia, Assistant Director of the Utilities Department, has resigned from his position, effective today, Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
In a recent statement, Mayor Dr. Victor D. Treviño addressed the resignation:
“The City Manager had mentioned in the previous press conference that there was going to be a ground-up restructuring of the Utilities Department. This is in combination with the approval of the interim director for the Utilities Department, who will begin on Monday, October 21st.”
The City of Laredo will not comment further on this matter as it pertains to an employee matter. Furthermore, the community should be aware that many Utilities employees, and field staff are working around the clock to address the current water-related concerns.
