9-1-1 and LPD Announce Back-to-School Supply Drive for 2024

Laredo, Texas — The City of Laredo 9-1-1 Regional Administration, in conjunction with the Laredo Police Department, is excited to announce the Back to School Supply Drive 2024. This FREE event will take place on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Sames Auto Arena.
The goal for this year is to assist 2,000 children in the community with school supplies, sports physicals, immunizations, haircuts, and vision screenings. Hundreds of families will benefit from the contribution and generosity of more than 20 City of Laredo departments, and children can look forward to a new school year. Also, the generosity of the outsourced agencies will provide the assistance the students need to prepare for the return to class.
Some specific details regarding the services available at the arena for all residents attending this event are:
Sports physicals will be provided by Laredo Medical Center.
Immunizations will be provided by the City of Laredo Health Department. (Student will need to provide their immunization card on time of the event in order to get the vaccination).
Hair Cuts will be done by Next Top Barber Academy & Chi Academy.
Vision Screenings will be performed by Wal-Mart and they will have hot dogs for the community. (While supplies last).
Beverages will be available for participants, made available by Pepsi’s generous sponsorship.
Please note that immunizations, vision screenings, and sports physicals will be located in the meeting room area.
