City of Laredo to Proclaim National Bike Month

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo, in collaboration with the Laredo-Webb County Area MPO (LWCAMPO) through its Active Transportation Committee, and in partnership with Bike Laredo, will locally proclaim the month of May as National Bike Month during a special ceremony led by Dr. Victor D. Treviño on Friday, May 8, 2026, at City Hall Council Chambers.
Throughout the month of May, several initiatives led by the League of American Bicyclists encourage communities across the country to stay active, including Bike to Work Week from May 11–17, 2026, and Bike to Work Day on May 15, 2026.
This year, National Bike Month will continue to support the goals of the Vision Zero Webb County Safety Action Plan, adopted in 2025 by the Regional Mobility Authority, Laredo City Council, and the LWCAMPO Policy Committee.
