MURDER SUSPECT CAPTURED IN MEXICO

(Laredo, Texas)-The Webb & Zapata County District Attorney’s Office successfully extradited a 2011 Murder Suspect known as Francisco Moncada De Hoyos from Mexico. This case came to light on March 14, 2011, at approximately 1:11 am, when Laredo Police Department Communications Section received a 911 call requesting the presence of a police officer to a residence on Elm St. in Laredo, Tx.

Upon arrival, LPD was advised by the caller that she had heard an altercation coming from an upstairs apartment. The neighbor stated that she had observed a male identified as De Hoyos with two small children and fled the scene leaving another child behind. The neighbor grabbed the child and waited for police to arrive.

LPD entered the scene and found his wife Alma De Hoyos deceased. At the time, a felony warrant was issued for De Hoyos for Murder F/1 with a $1,000.000.00 bond. De Hoyos fled to Mexico before being arrested.

De Hoyos was extradited and remanded to the Webb County Jail with the assistance from the following agencies: Department of Justice, Texas Department of Public Safety, U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. Marshalls Office, Laredo Police Department, Webb Co. Sheriff’s Office, Mexico Law Enforcement and Immigration Agencies.
