Joining Laredo Buzz as the new additions to the A league will be City Boiz formed by Austin Gates and Loaded formed by Kolby Vela.
The newly added A division teams will be competing against tough competition from returning division teams which include Dos Marias, Team Elite, OnScene, Dream Chasers, Trifecta and, the two-time undefeated league champion Howland who has dominated with its game play for two seasons.
The Laredo Buzz Basketball will be lead by former Suga Show Basketball Team Coach Joe Martinez who helped guide Suga Show through seven seasons with six of those seasons being winning seasons resulting in 6 playoff appearances reaching the championship game in the B division and the A division coming up short of a win both times and finishing with second place trophies in the respective seasons another of its playoff runs resulted in a third place trophy.
Martinez will not be the only former Suga Show team member who will be part of this newly formed team.
Former Suga Show Center Jonathan Bravo will be a huge part of the Laredo Buzz back court alongside former Suga Show Power Forward E.J. Palacios both players are former United South basketball standouts. They will be sharing the back court responsibilites with Isaiah Martinez Center / Power Forward Martinez also graduated from United South as well as with Alejandro Flores Shooting Guard / Power and Small Forward, and Jose Gonzalez who will also be featured as in the back court.
One more familiar Suga Show standout is Former Lyndon B. Johnson standout Anthony Merino who was one of the core players that resulted in the success of Suga Show leading the team as a Point Guard. Merino’s experience, speed and agility will be instumental once again as he will continue to bring an aggressive offensive and defensive mindset to the newly formed team.

Jacob Treviño and his brother Ray Treviño will be joining their former United South Basketball alumni althernating with teammates in the shooting guard and point guard positions. The Treviño name is syonoumus with South Laredo Basketball having won championships in the City of Laredo Basketball B Division as well as being former standouth players in United South. They come from a dynasty of basketball athletes that include their older brother Jesus “Chuy” Treviño.

Both Jacob and Ray were heavily recruited by Coach Martinez in his previous stint with Suga Show so the excitement of finally sharing the court with the two brothers is defenitely going bring enthusiasm to the upcoming 10 game schedule.

Martinez notes that all members of this new roster come with playoff A division experience “They are players who constantly game our former Suga Show team a hard time on the court I am glad to see them on our side of the court for a change.”

Those players which Martinez speaks about are former Ballaholics team members Isaiah Martinez and Josua Ramirez who played a tough defense against Martinez’ team they were both instumental in beating Suga Show last season by one point in a game that should have gone in favor of Suga.
Joshua Ramirez is a former United South basketball player having graduated in 2017 playing as a shooting guard and a power forward as needed.
Carlos Rocha is one more player that comes from a winning playoff caliber team which is Trifecta Rocha brings a fast and furious defensive mindset to Laredo Buzz that will help keep opponents in check while adding points on the offensive side of the court.

Jose Gonzalez and Alejandro Flores will help add size and come in with tough offensive and defesnsive rebounding capabilities which is an attribute that Martinez appreciates from big players those offensive rebounds could result in points on the scoreboard.

Over all this team has everything it needs for an initial winning season. The team comes in with experience, speed, agility, and scoring capabilty add this to a tough defensive team mentallity from Coach Martinez and you have a recipe for success.
The Laredo Buzz Basketball Team will make its debut tonight at 7:00 pm. at the Haynes Recreation Center on Clark Blvd. they will face a tough veteran team in Team Elite.
