Windfern Neighborhood setting a gold standard for McAllen neighborhoods

(McAllen, Texas)-The City of McAllen and McAllen Public Works city-wide initiative, McAllen SHINES, recognized the first neighborhood Community Champion, Windfern Neighborhood.
The area is known for its outstanding dedication to beautification efforts and civic pride. Known for their well-manicured lawns, vibrant landscaping, and clean streets, the community consistently participates in citywide initiatives to keep their neighborhood looking its best.
The McAllen SHINES Community Champion award is designed to recognize outstanding citizens and communities in McAllen who work hard every day to make the city a better place to live.
The event took place on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 113 Esperanza Ave.
