Suga Show and Part-Time’s Game is Decided in the Closing Seconds of the Game as Suga Wins 62-60

Courtesy Joe Martinez, (Laredo, Texas)-Last night’s City of Laredo Parks and Recreation A Division game between The Laredo Suga Show Basketball Team and The Part-Time Basketball Team was a hard played game by both teams. The game’s final score favored Suga by two points as the game ended 62-60.
Both teams played hard on both sides of the court with Suga jumping up to an early 17-5 lead in the first nine minutes of play. Suga was able to hold on to its lead all through the game despite Part-Time’s surge in the second half of the game.
Leading the way once again on the scoreboard for Suga Show was its veteran big man Jonathan Bravo who finished the night with 22 points and 14 rebounds both on offense and defense.
Anthony Merino Suga’s point-guard finished his night with 17 points in limited play exiting the game in the first half then returning in the second half to finish off the game.
Josue Casarez continues to score in this young summer season finishing in double digits once again as he shoots for 13 total points a much better start than the previous two seasons in which his offensive output averaged about 5 points a game.
Both Merino and Casarez are back to defensive form as previous seasons helping plug the middle of the court forcing there opponents to pass the ball more creating turnovers in Suga’s favor.
Gabriel Arrocha again proves why veteran experience is important in a game as he again has a second productive game on the defensive side of the court causing havoc against Part-Time’s star players. Arrocha was able to snatch the ball away at will as soon as his opponents hauled in a rebound making his presence known as the game progressed.
Chuy Cisneros comes in early in the first half to help substitute for Anthony Merino who had to sit out most of the first half due to a slight injury. Cisneros capitalized on his opportunity helping defend against a tough Part-Time offense.
Cristian Romo Suga’s new Center continued to be a dominant force on the boards as he secured 15 rebounds while making it extremely hard for Part-Time’s big players to score.
The new big-man tandem of Bravo and Romo has been effective in the early start of the 2025 summer season.
Evelio Rodriguez plays once again comes in to help the Suga big men retain control of the boards finishing with five rebounds and four points on offense while providing Suga with a tough physical play underneath.
Oswaldo Gomez comes into the game in the first half to help out on defense securing two rebounds.
Last night’s win improves Suga Show’s record to 2-0. Up next for Suga Show is a showdown with Team Elite next Tuesday June 24th at 9:00 pm. at the Haynes Recreation Center on Clark Blvd.
