A deafening cheer sets off LC graduates to next chapter of their lives

(Laredo, Tx)- With a record-breaking number of graduates earning their degrees or certificates this semester, the cheers of proud loved ones marked a momentous celebration that saw them setting off to the next chapter of their lives on Friday, May 9, during both Laredo College Commencement ceremonies.
Graduates like Alexis Guajardo, who not only see Laredo College as their institution of higher education but as a second home, felt the warmth of their Palomino family cheering them on. Every student’s dream begins and ends with the amount of tenacity they show to reach them. With over 1,400 graduates, it was clear that they will stop at nothing to reach their goals.
Furthermore, the ceremony marked a historic first with the Laredo College Police Department Color Guard making its debut. Their proud display on stage set off this wonderful moment in the lives of everyone in the audience–students, faculty, staff and the entire college community could not be prouder. As the confetti fell, the bright lights shone and the flowers were given, Laredo College congratulated every student that walked across the stage at the Sames Auto Arena.
It is often said that education is the great equalizer, but the resolve and willpower in the hearts of all our students is what will set them apart out in the world. Whether dual-enrollment, traditional, non-traditional, Continuing Education or Adult Education students, Laredo College welcomes anyone and everyone who is looking to make a difference in their lives and in the world. –
