Suga Show Comes Up Big in Win Against Team Clutch

(Laredo, Texas)-Last nights’s matchup between South Laredo’s Suga Show Basketball Team and Team Clutch lived up to the hype as both teams played a relentless game which had playoff implications at stake. The anticipation to yesterday’s game actually started the very next day that these two teams met in their season opener as Team Clutch pulled off a huge upset taking down Suga Show with an arsenal of three pointers combined with a domination of the boars when it came to offensive and defensive rebounds. Suga Show had no response to Team Clutch’s precision game play defensively as it was missing its natural center Louis Ibarra and Small Forward Jerry Garcia.

Yesterday was a differrent situation as both big men made their presence known allowing Suga Show’s Power Forward Jonathan Bravo to shine both on offense and defense as he led Suga Show both in scoring and rebounding finishing his night with 20 total points and 15 rebounds.

Bravo accumilated his rebounds both offensively and defensively scoring points on the offensive boards while being fed the ball with accurate passing from Suga Show’s guards Jose Casarez, Anthony Merino, Galaxander Mata and Miguel Robles.

Anthony Merino Suga’s point guard added 14 total points in limited game play while shooting guards Josue Casarez and Galaxder Mata played most of the game finishing their night with 13 points combined.

Miguel Robles continued his stellar defensive play tighting up an already stingy defense in the middle and the corners at the three point line disrupting Team Clutch’s shooters who made minimal damage from the three point line in comparison to their opening season matchup. Miguel Robles finishes his night with four points and six rebounds.

Louie Ibarra scores six points as the active center while adding 13 rebounds alternating his night with Evelio Rodriguez who came in to the game in relief of Ibarra. Jerry Garcia finishes his night with four points and six rebounds coming in during key moments of the game helping keep the game within range for Suga Show.

Coach Martinez made the necessary adjustments defensively in comparison to the first matchup in which Martinez struggled to find the right fit in the lineup to stop Team Clutch from walking away with that season opening victory.

The final score of the night was Suga Show 58 Team Clutch 43.

Suga Show will play its final game of the season this Thursday March 27th against Team Carolina in a makeup game that was to be played in December but was postponed due to bad weather. The game will take place at the Haynes Recreational Center at 9:00 pm. this thursday.
