Laredo College Hosts Spring Break Activities, Announces Closure

(Laredo, Texas)-Laredo College is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students during the upcoming holiday. The college will be closed from March 10 to March 14 for spring break.As part of the college’s ongoing efforts to educate students about safety measures, multiple departments came together to participate in the annual Safe and Sober events hosted by the Office of Student Life at both campuses. These events aim to educate students on how to stay safe while enjoying their break.
In addition to the delicious mocktails, inflatables and other fun activities, the Laredo College Police Department conducted field sobriety tests using impairing goggles to simulate intoxication.
This demonstration showed how drinking impairs drivers and can lead to fatal consequences.LC’s Safety and Risk Management staff were on hand to hand out donuts and remind students to download the Campus Shield app.
This app offers an easy-access duress button for emergency situations and proactive safety tools that allow students to report suspicious activities while remaining anonymous.
Students are reminded to stay safe over the break and enjoy their time. College offices at both campuses will resume normal operations on Monday, March 17 at 8 a.m.We wish all our students, faculty and staff a safe and enjoyable spring break.
