Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Recognizes Laredo College with Prestigious Award

(Laredo, Texas)-Laredo College’s legacy of postsecondary education, career readiness and economic mobility was recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), which presented the highly coveted STAR Award for demonstrating exceptional contributions to student success and workforce development in Texas.
Dean of Community Education Sandra Cortez celebrated receiving this prestigious award for the first time in the college’s history. She added that, among community colleges and universities from across the state, LC’s Continuing Education Department emerged as a standout, receiving the award in the Workforce Development category for its groundbreaking Laredo CARES initiative.
