LAREDO, Texas— The holiday season is here, and the City of Laredo invites everyone to join in the festive fun at Navidadfest 2024, the city’s cherished holiday celebration. This year’s event promises an unforgettable evening of joy, entertainment, and community spirit on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Sames Auto Arena.

From 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., attendees will be treated to a winter wonderland filled with family-friendly activities, live performances, and the highly anticipated Christmas Tree Lighting Countdown, led by Santa Claus and Mayor Dr. Victor Treviño, at 7:00 p.m.

Festivities Include:

· Free Ice Skating (ticket required; limited sessions)

· Photos with Santa Claus (ticket required; limited availability)

· Free cookies and hot chocolate (until supplies last)

· Snow Slide, Train Rides & Santa’s Workshops

· Seeded Gift Paper Activity: Create eco-friendly holiday-themed gift wrap embedded with wildflower seeds.

· Christmas Trolley with Characters: Meet beloved favorites like Mini and Mickey Mouse.

· Elf Health Hunt: Join an interactive scavenger hunt to find hidden elves across event booths.

· Pet Adoptions & Christmas Fashion Show: Adorable pets available for adoption with fees waived during the event.

· Fire Truck Display & Sparky Appearance by the Laredo Fire Department.

· Child ID Cards & McGruff the Crime Dog: Courtesy of the Laredo Police Department.

· Live Performances by local student choirs.

While the event is free, tickets are required for select activities. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Sames Auto Arena box office starting at 2:00 p.m. on December 5.

Ice Skating Tickets: Limited to 4 tickets per family (7 sessions available). Each session lasts 30 minutes, and a signed liability release form is required on-site.

Santa Photo Tickets: Limited to 300 tickets (1 per family).

Ice-skating participants are encouraged to dress warmly as the indoor temperature will be cold. Personal skates are allowed if desired, but skate sizes may be limited.

Food, drinks, and cellphones are not permitted in the ice rink.

Attendees are encouraged to plan ahead, observe all traffic signals, and follow the directions of Police Officers managing intersections near the venue.
