City of Laredo to Begin District-Based Water System Flushing

LAREDO, Texas –The City of Laredo is encouraging the community to flush its water system to remove stagnant water and potential contaminants as part of ongoing efforts to lift the boil water notice. The flushing process will start on today, October 20, 2024, at 7:00 a.m.
Details:
The city is divided into 8 districts, with two districts flushing every 6 hours to manage flow and prevent strain on the system.
Flushing ensures clean, safe water by eliminating any contaminants that may exist in pipes, even though water from treatment plants meets high standards.
Why Flushing Matters?
Although the water coming out of the Treatment Plants is high quality, contaminants can still exist in pipes. Flushing ensures safe, reliable water as we move toward lifting the boil water notice.
