Mayor Dr. Victor Treviño Leads Outreach Mission to Sister Cities

LAREDO, TX – This week, City of Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Treviño, led a small group of city staff on an outreach mission to visit over 20 of Laredo’s Sister Cities outside of Mexico City. The visit aimed to strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Accompanied by City Manager, Joe Neeb, Assistant City Manager, Jose Valdez Jr., Aileen Ramos, and Reyna Arzate from the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), and Fire Department Assistant Chief Silvestre Rodriguez, Mayor Dr. Treviño participated in a roundtable discussion with leaders from the sister cities. The roundtable covered a wide range of topics, including environmental stewardship, recycling, tourism, public safety, and increasing synergy between Mexico and the United States at the local level.
The delegation engaged with leaders from these sister cities to discuss several important areas, such as fostering economic development partnerships, sharing public safety best practices, and exploring opportunities for emergency equipment reuse. These discussions underscored Laredo’s commitment to mutual growth and collaboration, building on the shared interests and goals of the participating cities.
This outreach mission represents a significant step in the City of Laredo’s ongoing efforts to foster strong, sustainable relationships with its sister cities, promoting greater regional cooperation and community support across borders.
