Suga Show Rolls Thru Team ASAP

(Laredo, Texas)-Suga Show welcomed Team ASAP to the City of Laredo’s A Division Basketball League with a convincing 70-49 victory in an exciting game in which Suga Show came in strong in the second half to run away with the victory.

Coach Federico Melendez Jr. had Team ASAP ready to go taking it to Suga Show in the first half keeping the game within 11 points playing a solid defense as Suga Show was forced to sit its big man on the court Louie Ibarra who was in foul problems within the first 4 minutes of the game.

Anthony Merino kept Suga in the game once again dropping 2 three-pointers in the first half to keep Suga with the lead.  Merino finishes his night with four total 3 point shots as he finsihes with a total of 24 points.

The second half was all Suga Show as Louie Ibarra returned to the game to dominate the boards while helping his teammates in the middle of the court on defense to help keep Team ASAP at bay on the scoring end.

Anthony Merino and Louie Ibarra finish with 37 points combined in the game with Merino leading the way with 24 points while Ibarra adds 15 points with 12 rebounds most of those points coming in the second half of the game.

Joshwa Palacios kicks it up a notch having his highest points total in a game with 16 points while playing a strong defense game of his own.

Evelio “Billy” Rodriguez has his best game of his 4 season run with Suga Show playing a tough as nails defense while scoring 10 points while pounding his opponents for hard fought rebounds.

Rounding off the evening was Chuy Cisneros who comes into the game for the second time in the closing two minutes of the second half to sink 2 back to back 3 point shots to finish his night with 6 total points.

Tony Garza and Leonardo Campos played a strong defensive game while adding five points combined three of those points coming off a three-point shot by Garza.
Suga’s victory was a combined team effort as Team ASAP refused to back down in its A Division debut. Suga Show will have a brief break as it awaits its next game against Team Elite that game will be played on August 13th.

Hats off to ASAP Coach Federico Melendez for putting together a good team and a good game plan on the court.
