McAllen Police Department Citizens’ Police Academy Applications Due This Friday July 26th

(McAllen, Texas)-The McAllen Police Department reminds the public that the applications for the Citizens’ Police Academy are due this Friday July 26th the Academy will run from Aug 15th through October 16, 2024,the 10-week academy will meet every Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. There is no cost to apply and selected applicants must be 21 years of age or older; able to attend all classes; work or reside in McAllen; and turn in a completed application by Friday, July 26, 2024.
Topics covered will include police firearms orientation; patrol procedures; police ride-along; juvenile law and procedures; and additional areas of police instruction.
