Engineering Announces the Start of Improvements on Zaragoza Street

Laredo, Texas — The City of Laredo Engineering Department notifies the community about the beginning of Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) #1 Zaragoza Street Improvements Projects. The contractor will begin work on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, for approximately 120 days, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Sunday. This project will include constructing sidewalks, curb and gutter, brick pavers, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, storm drainage, lighting, electrical, trees, and irrigation for four (4) blocks in downtown Laredo along Zaragoza Street and Iturbide St. No interruptions of water and sewer services apply to this project.
Motorists and pedestrians are cautioned to avoid the construction area, take alternate routes, or use extreme caution when traveling through it. Additionally, customers are urged to adhere to all posted traffic control signs and devices in order to provide safety to all citizens and minimize traffic congestion in the affected area.
