Laredo, TX – On July 18, 2024, at approximately 8:11 p.m., during the intake process of new inmate Roberto Rodriguez, 33, at the Webb County Jail, correctional officers discovered a clear plastic baggie containing a white unknown substance during a routine strip search.
Sheriff Martin Cuellar commends the correctional officers involved for their unwavering vigilance in intercepting these drugs before they could enter the jail. This incident serves as a reminder to the community that any attempt to smuggle contraband into the jail will be met with zero tolerance and additional felony charges will be added.
