McAllen, TX – Swing into action because the McAllen Chamber of Commerce is bringing back the ultimate showdown on the green: The Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament! Mark your calendars for Monday, October 21, for a day filled with friendly competition and community spirit, set against the stunning backdrop of McAllen’s Champion Lakes Golf Course. After a hiatus since 2021 as the Presidents’ Cup Golf Tournament, the Mayor’s Cup is now back and better than ever, promising an exciting blend of golfing thrills and good times, all aimed at boosting the business community–supported by the McAllen Chamber.

As a fierce supporter of both businesses and the community, the McAllen Chamber is a nonprofit powerhouse, steered by a dedicated team: Our volunteer Board of Directors. Their mission? To pool and nurture resources that amp up our local scene and give a boost to our business economy.

Elizabeth Suarez, president and CEO of the McAllen Chamber, can’t contain her excitement. “Since taking the reins at the McAllen Chamber, I’ve been blown away by the passion of our team. From our rock-solid Board of Directors to our hardworking staff, we’re a force to be reckoned with in the Chamber of Commerce world,” she said. “And we can’t overlook our biggest supporter, McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos. It’s a moment of immense pride and honor as he becomes the inaugural McAllen mayor to receive recognition at the Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament this year. Let’s rally behind him and ensure he shines with pride!”

Leading the charge on the Board of Directors are big hitters like Chairman of the Board Jim Darling; Incoming Chair Hershal Patel; Executive Board Members Dr. Fred Farias, Adrian Villarreal, and Stephan Wingert; and our whole team of dedicated folks who are all in on making McAllen shine.

But it’s not just about hitting the links; it’s about making a difference, too. All the proceeds from this swinging event go straight back into the Chamber’s mission to supercharge our local economy, make meaningful connections, and sprinkle a little extra magic into life in our region.
