CBP officers seize over $703K in cocaine at Laredo Port of Entry

LAREDO, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers assigned to the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge seized cocaine that totaled over $703,000 in street value.

“CBP Officers are trained to maintain their vigilance and detect suspicious activity,” said Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. “This cocaine bust demonstrates the level of commitment our officers maintain while safeguarding our nation.”

The seizure occurred on Sunday, Mar. 24, at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge, when a CBP officer referred a female Mexican citizen for secondary inspection. Following a canine and non-intrusive inspection system examination, CBP officers discovered a total of 52.69 pounds of alleged cocaine within the vehicle.

The narcotics had a combined street value of $703,520.

CBP seized the narcotics and the vehicle. The driver was arrested, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents are investigating the seizure.
