McAllen International Airport hosts Inaugural Flight to Austin, Texas via Delta Air Lines.

(McAllen, Texas)-McAllen International Airport welcomed representatives from Delta Air Lines to launch their first nonstop flight to Austin, Texas on April 22, 2024. “McAllen has made travel between the Valley and Austin easier than ever,” said City of McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos. Nonstop flights between McAllen and the state capital will now depart daily from McAllen International Airport.
“A growing Rio Grande Valley needed a non-stop flight with multiple frequencies a day connecting to Austin,” said McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E. “The Rio Grande Valley can now connect with a center of government and business through the Valley’s preferred airport here in McAllen.”
Delta is the third new air carrier to bring a new nonstop route to McAllen International Airport in 2024, joining service to, Mexico City through Aeromexico, Cancun through Volaris, and Tampa-St. Petersburg through Allegiant Air.
“Delta is an outstanding partner to help us bring nonstop flights to Austin from McAllen,” said McAllen International Airport Director of Aviation Jeremy Santoscoy, P.E. “Delta offers our travelers an efficient and reliable connection with one of the most important cities in Texas.”
