(McAllen, Texas)-With an initial investment of $220,696.00 approved by the McAllen City Commission and acquired through Community Development Block Grant funding (CDBG), the McAllen Fire Department acquired a brand-new Skeeter Brush Truck through Siddons Martin Emergency Group.
This unit is equipped with a removable wildland firefighting skid load, a 300 gallon on-board water tank and various equipment for wildland firefighting and rescue operations. The truck is also equipped with a lift package that allows additional ground clearance when it is used for wildland fires.
Additionally, the removable firefighting skid load will allow the truck to be converted to a High Profile Vehicle for use during severe weather that results in widespread flooding.
This new brush truck will be housed at Fire Station #6 on the City’s South Side at 23rd and Sarah.
