Criminal with Thirteen Warrants Surrenders to the Sheriff’s Office

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – On Friday, January 26, 2024, Jose Guadalupe Torres known as “Borrego” self-surrendered to the Webb County Jail after a long term investigation led by the Criminal Investigations Division. Torres was wanted for thefts and burglaries in the Rio Bravo area. This individual had 13 active warrants totaling $54,000 bond that were issued by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and Patrol Division.

The warrants included:

1. Assault Class A misdemeanor

2. Criminal Trespass Class B misdemeanor

3. Theft of Property Class B misdemeanor

4. Evading Arrest/Detention Class A misdemeanor

5. Burglary of a Vehicle Class A misdemeanor

6. Terroristic Threats Class B misdemeanor

7. Evading Arrest/Detention with previous conviction State Jail Felony

8. Resisting Arrest Search Transport Class A misdemeanor

9. Theft of Property Class B misdemeanor

10. Criminal Trespass Class B misdemeanor

11. Unlawful Restraint Class A misdemeanor

12. Assault Class A misdemeanor

13. Theft Class A misdemeanor

Torres known as “Borrego” is currently being held at the Webb County Jail.

“It is gratifying to learn that this individual has taken responsibility for his actions. The city of Rio Bravo and has repeatedly suffered from his criminal behavior. For a while now, this individual has been causing havoc in the area, and our deputies have been diligently searching for him to bring him to justice. The Sheriff’s Office searched various locations, and eventually, due to the pressure from our deputies, Torres surrendered himself. Collaborating with my team, I was able to answer a multitude of calls and serve the community by ensuring justice was done.
