(Laredo, Texas)-Anthony Merino leads South Laredo’s Suga Show Basketball with 19 points to steal a game against Ez Money in the City of Laredo Division A Basketball League. Suga Show trailed the whole game against a tough Ez Money defense that looked to walk away with a victory up until the last seconds of the game.

Ez Money led by as much as 6 points during much of the first half of the game with Suga staying within range on a cluth 3 pointer by Joshwa Palacios. Suga then rallies to within 3 to finish the first half 35-32.

The second half didn’t fair any better for Suga to start until the lasst seconds of the game in which they managed to tie the game only to see Ez Money retake the lead by one. Suga Show steps it up on defense with key steals from Alberto Moncivais and Josue Casarez while Sergio Castillo comes in to help disrupt Ez Money’s offense that continued to rack up points.

Tony Garza and Chuy Cisneros along with Julian Gonzalez step in midway the second half while Devin Stallings secures key rebounds putting up offensive points to keep the game as close as possible.

Suga Show calls a timeout with 9 seconds left in the game to regroup Anthony Merino then comes back to hit a three-pointer giving Suga the lead 61-59 with just 2 seconds left on the clock. Ez Money misses its last attempt to win the game giving Suga Show its second win of the season.

Top scorers for Suga Show Anthony Merino with 19, Devin Stallings with 10, and Josue Casares with 10.

Suga Show next game will be next Tuesday December 12th at 8 p.m. against M.ll.S. a the Haynes Recreational Center on Clark Blvd.
