LAREDO, TX— The Laredo City Council acknowledged a group of students during Monday’s meeting. The City of Laredo is pleased to continue presenting these recognitions in honor of the achievements of locals who work hard to give back to the community or represent this town through their professional careers and/or extracurricular activities. Monday’s recipients were as follows:
Paws of Johnson
Council Member for District 1, Gilbert Gonzalez, was proud to present a special recognition to the Lyndon B. Johnson High School group “Paws of Johnson”, who have been supporting the local community, reaching out and helping the pet population. With their sponsors’ support, this group of young individuals have fostered pets and advocated for other members of the community to do the same in an effort to save the pet population in our town, led by the group’s president, Ms. America Rodriguez.
Laredo City Manager, Mr. Joe Neeb, proudly presented the newly appointed and sworn-in Chief Miguel (Mike) A. Rodriguez. Mr. Neeb and all members of council have welcomed Chief Rodriguez and are excited to see the development of the Laredo Police force under his leadership.
