McAllen International Airport hosting “Nuestra Tierra, Nuestra Herencia”, a Photography Exhibit celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month

McAllen, TX – McAllen International Airport announces its partnership with the Consulates of El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with the Photography Exhibit “Nuestra Tierra, Nuestra Herencia.”
“McAllen proudly recognizes National Hispanic Heritage Month. At this time of year, the contributions of the Hispanic population to society and the richness of our culture are recognized as a reminder of the Hispanic women and men who have changed our nation’s history,” said McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos.
McAllen International Airport’s National Hispanic Heritage Month Program honors the Rio Grande Valley’s Hispanic community while highlighting McAllen International Airport’s ability to connect travelers to anywhere in the world, including Mexico and Central America, with air service to the major Texas hubs.
“Nuestra Tierra, Nuestra Herencia,” an exhibition inspired by sustainability, will be on display in the Airport lobby from September 15th to October 15th in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, in collaboration with the Consulates of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.
“We are multi-cultural in McAllen and proud of our Hispanic heritage throughout the Rio Grande Valley and its regional influence.” “Our city’s diversity allows us to learn from one another and form collaborative ties,” stated McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E. “McAllen believes in long-term relationships, so we are grateful for the friendship and collaboration of the Consulates of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico in making this art exhibit a reality.”
Jaime Garcia, Major League Baseball Pitcher, the 2023 National Hispanic Heritage honoree, was recognized for being a sports trailblazer, his advocacy for sustainability, as well as for his dedication to groups addressing sustainability issues.
