City of Laredo Appoints New Police Chief

LAREDO, TX— City of Laredo Manager, Joseph Neeb, appoints Miguel Rodriguez as the new Police Chief. Mr. Rodriguez has served within the Laredo Police Department in numerous capacities and as an Assistant Chief of Police. He began his service in the City in 1999 as a Patrol Officer, and following that, his roles included Crime Scene Investigator, Special Investigations Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Sergeant-Auto Theft Task Force, Lieutenant, and Deputy Chief of Police. Miguel is the current State of Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Board Chair; and he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M International University.
“His enthusiasm and leadership skills will be valuable to this department. He holds an extensive amount of experience and knowledge in this field and will be a great asset for the City of Laredo”, said City Manager Joseph Neeb.
There will be a period of transition for Mr. Rodriguez to take his position as the Laredo Police Chief.
