Utilities Department Announces Paperless Billing

Laredo, Texas — The City of Laredo Utilities Department prints, folds and mails 80 thousand sheets of paper (utility bill) a month. In turn, the Utilities Department is encouraging all customers to reduce paper usage and be environmentally friendly by enrolling in paperless billing, an easy way to receive your monthly statement and it clears the clutter of paper bills.
It is a one-time enrollment to receive the utility bill via email and it may take up to 30 days to reflect in the account. There are 18-thousand customers who are already enrolled in the notification program with the Utilities Department. Those customers will automatically be enrolled in the paperless billing program, but they need to opt out from receiving a paper copy.
