Webb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Save Woman’s Life

Laredo, TX (Webb County) – On Wednesday morning, while patrolling an area known for illegal dumping in South Laredo, two members of the Sheriff’s Office Environmental Division came across a human body wrapped in a black blanket on Wormser Road, off Cuatro Vientos Road. Upon approaching the body, they discovered a woman in her mid to late 20s displaying a pale color.
Upon checking the woman’s vital signs, they immediately applied two doses of Narcan, which is used to help victims of overdose temporarily reverse the effects of opiates. A private EMS company arrived and administered a third dose of Narcan. The victim was stabilized and sent to a local hospital.
“I congratulate these two Sheriff’s Office deputies for their quick thinking and actions,” said Sheriff Martin Cuellar. “They saved the woman’s life. She would have died had she been there longer, especially with these extreme hot conditions.”
The Sheriff’s Office is working in identifying the woman as the investigation continues.
