GEO Group Webb County Scholarship Presentation

(Laredo, Texas)-Students from LISD, UISD, St. Agustin High School, Harmony School of Excellence and the Webb Consolidated School District will be presented Letters of Commitment from the GEO Group in a ceremony to be held Thursday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the Webb County Commissioner’s Courtroom.
Commissioner Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina, and members of the Webb County Commissioners Court along with the GEO Group Facility Administrator Juan Baltazar will be making the presentation.
This is the seventeenth year that the GEO Group has awarded scholarships to area students to help them pursue a higher education. Commissioner Tijerina believes that “Education is the key that opens all doors in life”.
A total of twenty-five scholarships totaling $25,000 will be awarded.
Parents and counselors are welcome to attend. A reception will follow after the ceremony. The Webb County Courthouse is located at 1000 Houston Street.
