City of McAllen to Break Ground on Splash Pad at McAllen Youth Baseball Complex

Added amenities will enhance the use of the park by community and sports teams

(McAllen, Texas)-The City of McAllen is once again enhancing the featured amenities at the McAllen Youth Baseball Complex, this time preparing to add a splash pad to the park. The pad will have 10 water elements, most notable the Sneaky Spin Soaker, which will feature a handle that lets water players rotate the feature as it spills and dumps water. The splash pad will be located on the northeast side of the complex, between the new restrooms and parking lot and the Miracle Field.
McAllen City Commission approved the project in September, 2022. The water element feature cost is $205,510 and the vendor, TF Harper, requires a minimum lead time of seven-months for production. The McAllen Parks & Recreation Department will create connections for the splash pad site for the contractor to connect at 10 feet.
The Groundbreaking ceremony for Splash Pad Park will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at the McAllen Youth Baseball Complex, 8201 N. 29th St.
