City of McAllen Invites Comments on Comprehensive Plan

(McAllen, Texas)-For the past 10 months, the City of McAllen has been developing an updated comprehensive plan, by hosting community meetings and online surveys and asking for input from residents, businesses, community stakeholders and others.
The draft plan is now final and the community is once again invited to give feedback on what is being proposed for McAllen’s future growth and development for the next 20 to 30 years.
Areas up for comment to the public are proposed land uses, future plans for parklands, transportation, economic development, and the city’s growth in general.
The comprehensive plan will help McAllen maintain its character, enhance the quality of life for residents and support economic development.
“It’s important we hear from our residents, so we can plan for McAllen’s bold, sustainable future growth,” said McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos.
Residents can visit the website Envision McAllen, at www.mcallen2040.com and leave comments on anything proposed in the plan. The website is available in English and Spanish. The plan will be available for public comment through May 12, 2023.
