Laredo Delegation Prepares for Annual Federal Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C.

Mayor, Councilmembers, City Administrators depart this Sunday
LAREDO, Texas—The City of Laredo will be participating in its annual legislative trip to Washington, D.C., starting Sunday. Representatives from local organizations and the private sector in Laredo will also participate in meetings with federal agencies.
“The City of Laredo depends on federal funding for programs, infrastructure, security, healthcare and quality of life,” said Mayor Dr. Victor Treviño. “We are prepared to discuss our community’s needs with lawmakers and agencies with its 2023 federal legislative agenda.”
The Laredo delegation has approximately 20 planned meetings with the following agencies and offices:

City Manager Joe Neeb has appointed Doanh “Zone” T. Nguyen, City Attorney, to act as the Acting City Manager for the duration of this Federal Legislative Trip. Mayor Pro-Tempore and Council member for District 7 Vanessa Perez will not participate in the Legislative Trip and will serve in the capacity of Mayor Pro-Tempore.
