Downtown Temporary Street Closure at Flores Avenue

Laredo, Texas — The City of Laredo advises the community of a temporary street closure for the Flores Avenue Drainage and Utility Improvement Project – Phase II, to begin on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 8:00 AM through Friday, January 20, 2023. This closure will take place on Flores Avenue, from Victoria Street to Houston Street. The project includes the installation of a storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water utility infrastructure. The southeast parking lot of City Hall will be temporarily inaccessible during this closure. Metered parking spaces on both sides of Flores Street, between Houston Street and Victoria Street, will also be temporarily inaccessible. Azar Services, LLC will continue installing utilities on Flores Avenue from Houston Street to Victoria Street.
Work will take approximately sixteen (16) days, for completion of work, weather permitting. Progress updates will be made available by the Engineering Department.
Motorists and pedestrians are cautioned to avoid the construction area completely and to take alternate routes, or to use extreme caution when traveling through the area. Residents are urged to adhere to all posted traffic control signs and devices in order to provide safety to all citizens and minimize traffic congestion in the affected area.
