Washington, DC –  U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar voted to pass a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through Friday, December 23rd. Congressman Cuellar released the following statement in regard to his vote:

“I voted to pass the continuing resolution to keep the government open. Congress is preparing to finalize FY 2023 government funding, and the continuing resolution we passed in the House will give us the time we need to complete the federal appropriations process by next Friday,” said Congressman Cuellar. “This crucial legislation will avert a government shutdown and ensure we complete the federal appropriations process swiftly and correctly.”

“I want to thank House Appropriations Chairwoman Rosa DeLauro for her continued leadership in reaching a bipartisan framework to get us across the finish line in the appropriations process. As a senior member of the House Appropriations committee, I look forward to signing a final government funding package soon to deliver for my district, South Texas, and the American people.”
