Juan David Ortiz transferred to state penitentiary

Laredo, TX (Webb County) — Early Monday morning, Juan David Ortiz, the former US Border Patrol agent convicted of killing four defenseless innocent women, left the Webb County Jail enroute to the state penitentiary, where he will be serving his sentence of life without parole for the 2018 Capital Murders.
Up until Friday afternoon, Sheriff Martin Cuellar was still in contact with Ortiz, who constantly was filing complaints with jail staff and with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Even though all his complaints were unsubstantiated, Sheriff Cuellar still had to address them.
For his safety, the state penitentiary he will be sent to will not be disclosed.
