Laredo, Texas — U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) released answers to questions he posed to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding ethylene oxide.
On September 29th, Congressman Cuellar met with Joseph Goffman, Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator/nominee for Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation, Mike Koerber, Deputy Director, Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards, and other members of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to discuss ethylene oxide emission concerns in Laredo.
EPA officials discussed the timeline of the forthcoming rule regarding ethylene oxide emissions standards for sterilization facilities—which will be proposed in the coming months. The agency also discussed funding opportunities for fence line air monitoring that will be available as a result of the American Rescue Plan Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.
